Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center is looking for a RN Nurse Manager to join the team!

Job Summary:

Under the direction of Director of Nursing, the Nurse Manager assumes responsibility for primary care coordination of resident/family, including but not limited to, compliance, POC, quality of life assurance, interdisciplinary coordination as needed, staff resource and support, for a specific Nursing Unit within the facility. Assures interdisciplinary intervention to assist residents in achieving maximum level daily.

Typical Physical Demands:

Must be able to respond quickly to emergency situations which may require using stairs, running or lifting a resident who has fallen; must be able to push medication cart and pass medication if needed.

Typical Working Conditions:

Long term care facility for residents who require skilled nursing care and/or rehabilitation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Knowledgeable of resident conditions at all times.
  • Reports resident change in condition to the physician and initiates necessary follow-up to assure resident welfare as needed.
  • Abuse Prevention: Responsible for the implementation of Bayshore Abuse Plan including unit staff education and compliance, complete investigation and Vulnerable Adult Reporting.
  • Participates in Care Conferences for residents on assigned unit.
  • Directs MDS Coordinator for assigned unit, and may be required to complete MDS reports in absence of MDS Coordinator.
  • Assures nursing care is being provided according to physicians’ orders and in compliance with established standards, administrative polices and the residents’ POC.
  • Supervises facility personnel for unit, including support staff assigned to that unit.
  • Conducts Performance Reviews of all Nursing staff on assigned unit, including 30/60/90 evaluations for new employees.
  • Assures compliance with established standards on unit through observation and teaching.
  • Communicates with the DON and Adm. any pertinent info. Regarding changes in resident condition, physician calls, employee problems, and problems with physical structure in timely manner.
  • Sees that employment policies and procedures are used effectively in nursing department including initiation and documentation of disciplinary action as needed.
  • Assures that all policies and procedures of Bayshore are being adhered to.
  • Participates in maintaining the safety of the facility, including participation in fire/tornado drills and first aid training per policy and procedure.
  • Participates in in-services/meetings both in-house and outside the facility.
  • Maintains good working relationships with staff, supervisors and other departments, fostering a team environment.
  • Assures that each resident is treated with dignity and respect and that confidentiality and the components of the Bill of Rights are maintained.
  • Adheres to all infection control policies and procedures. Establishes and participates in activities for assigned residents.
  • Completes self-scheduling with interest of facility needs, as well as own, in mind.
  • Performs other related duties consistent with operational needs as assigned.


  • Knowledge of geriatric/long-term and/or experience.
  • Ability to solve problems and set priorities.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations as they affect long-term care.
  • Ability to promote self-motivation and evaluation to other staff members, as well as self.

Job Specifications:

Education and Training: Current licensure as an RN in the State of Minnesota.

Work Experience: Previous management experience in skilled nursing facility preferred
